This little recipe is a real autumn classic, a combination of great British fruits, lovely and warming for those chilly evenings!
2 handfuls of blackberries
1 jar of Summer Fruit Extra Jam
340g plain flour
Saison gingerbread sugar
Crumbles really are simple creatures. A bit of fruit, a lovely topping and you have a delicious after dinner treat! This makes quite a large crumble ready for many mouths, if you just want to feed two or three I would halve the recipe...unless you want crumble leftovers!
Firstly peel, core and chop your apples and pears into small chunks and fill the bottom of an oven proof dish. Sprinkle over your Blackberries and top with a good few dollops of Summer Fruit Jam. If you don't have any Summer Fruit Jam try experimenting...our Pear & Vanilla is brilliant in all types of bakes, or if you're lucky enough to have a jar of our Bramble Jelly then that is a real treat!
Layer over the top of the fruit and sprinkle with a bit of sugar. We used Saison gingerbread sugar which is really fantastic and warming.
Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for forty - fifty minutes. Then serve with plenty of ice cream/custard/cream depending on your preference and enjoy!
